How Kool works

Kool is a mobile app for the people you actually talk to. Messages, calls, meetings, your real email and your social feed sit behind one account, on one screen, in one place.

Built as one thing, not five

Most people run a messenger, a calling app, a calendar, an email client and a social app side by side, and spend the day copying context between them. Kool puts those five in the same product, which is why a conversation can turn into a call, then into a meeting, and still be one history you can scroll.

The account model

• Sign in is passwordless. A six digit code goes to your email, and your device holds a session after that.
• Two factor authentication with an authenticator app is available and recommended.
• Sessions are visible and revocable, one by one, from the security center.
• You can export your data and delete your account from inside the app.

The assistant

Akili is the assistant built into Kool. It recaps chats, summarises email, drafts replies and holds a voice conversation in seven languages. It reads content when you ask it to do something with that content, and not before.

What runs underneath

Kool runs on Cloudflare at the edge, close to wherever you are. The service status for every part of it is public at status.k00l.app, including current incidents and their history.

• We do not sell your data.
• No third party analytics and no advertising trackers.
• Ads, where they appear, are contextual and labelled as sponsored.
• Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• The app is designed for light and dark from the first screen, and accessibility is a requirement rather than a later pass.
