Notifications are not arriving

Work through this list in order. One of these is almost always the cause.

  1. Check iOS. Open the iOS Settings app, find Kool, open Notifications and make sure they are allowed.
  2. Check Focus and Do Not Disturb. A Focus mode that excludes Kool will silence everything without telling you.
  3. Check the in app settings. Profile hub, Settings, Notifications.
  4. Check the conversation. A muted thread stays quiet by design. Look for the Muted marker in the list.
  5. Check which account is active. Notifications follow the account you are signed into. Switch accounts if you were expecting something on the other one.
  6. Check the network. Push needs a connection. On a very restricted wifi network it may not get through.
  7. Restart the phone. This genuinely fixes push registration problems more often than it should.
  8. Sign out and back in. That registers a fresh push token for this device.
