Lock the app with Face ID or a PIN

Stop anyone who picks up your phone from reading your messages.

Face ID

  1. Open Settings, then Security center.
  2. Turn on Face ID.
  3. Set Require after to how long Kool may stay open before it asks again.

Choose a short interval if your phone spends time in other hands, and a longer one if the prompt becomes annoying during normal use.

A PIN code

  1. In the same screen, tap PIN code.
  2. Set your PIN.

The PIN also acts as your fallback when Face ID cannot read your face.

To remove it, come back to the same screen and tap Remove PIN.

Locking a single conversation

You do not have to lock the whole app. Swipe a conversation in Messages and tap Lock to protect just that thread. See Archive, mute, favourite and lock chats.
